Research Abstract |
This study tried to develop planning techniques for the better preferable land use in a suburban area from the viewpoint of river basin control, using G.I.S.(Geographical Information Systems). South part of Osaka is chosen as the study area where is heavy land use changes and dynamic population movement. First, to prove mainly factors of topographical and traffic conditions which influence land use changes, this area is analyzed based on the land use map and the population data of 1973,1990 and the sea level data. Second, to attempt to fix the environmental capaacity in this area which are influenced by lad use changes, and also to seek a solution to the better land use based on an estimation of the change of environmental capacity, the environmental capacity is calculated based on the regional environmental data. The study results are as follows ; according to the factor on the topographical shifts influenced by land use change, level of 50m is a boundary line which changes from urban land use to rural. Level of 100m is a boundary line changing to forestry. According to the traffic condition, railway station influences within approx 800m for residential land use, approx 300m for commercial, approx 700m for industrial. Highway influences within approx 500m for residential land use and approx 100m for commercial. On the environmental capacity, capacity of carbon dioxide fixation and water resource are calculated with a model formula. To clarify that each capacity change seriously depends on an increase of the population and a decrease of the forest resources, the problems to order the land use are specified.
