Research Abstract |
Following three microworlds were supposed in learners who are thinking about the gravity. 1 : World for thinking with words, for example, "fast, this weight, velocity, ets.". 2 : World for thinking with equations, for example, "f=m * alpha". 3 : World for thinking with graphic charts, for example, "two dimensional space x-y". On the basis of microworls above, respective windows were designed. Learing activities on these windows were considered. By using Microsoft Visual Basic, lingustic window, equational window, and graphical window were developed. Additionally, animation window were developed for supporting learners' dynamic image of motion. This system were developed as a tool, separated from tasks for learners. This tool can be utilized not only for helping learners'thinking but also for helping teachers'presentation. As an application of this window system, an equation of the second degree : y=ax (x-b) was presented in graphical, equational and parameter windows. By these examples, following conclusions were obtained. 1. Connected system of windows can be used as a learning environment. 2. It can be developed by school teachers with object-oriented programming software. 3. The theory of microworld provides a strategy for developing connected systems of windows.
