Research Abstract

REBa_2Cu_3O_y(REBCO:RE=Y,Smなどの希土類元素)超伝導線材の実用化には、工学的にデザインされたナノサイズの磁束ピンニング点(APC : Artificial Pinning Center)を膜中に導入することにより、磁場中における臨界電流密度J_cを向上させる必要があり、今後はこれらのAPCを用いてピンニング特性を任意に制御する技術が必要とされる。本研究ではAPCの中で、c軸相関ピンとして知られているBaZrO_3(BZO)ナノロッドに着目した。一方、これまで我々は、低温成膜(LTG : Low Temperature Growth)法を用いてSmBa_2Cu_3O_y(SmBCO)薄膜を作製してきた。LTG法はまず、比較的高い成膜温度でSmBCO seed layerを作製し、その上に成膜温度を変化させてSmBCO upper layerをホモエピタキシャル成長させる。LTG法を用いることによりa軸配向膜の生成や臨界温度T_c及びJ_cを大きく低下させることなく、BZOナノロッドの直径と数密度を制御できると期待される。そこで、本年度は磁束ピンニング特性の制御を目指して、LTG法を用いてBZO添加SmBCO(LTG-SmBCO+BZO)薄膜を作製した。透過型電子顕微鏡(TEM)により微細構造観察を行った。その結果、T_s^<upper>の低下に伴い、T_s^<upper>の低下に伴い、BZOの平均直径が減少し、数密度が増加することが確認された。また、不可逆磁場(B_<irr>)曲線やJ_cの磁場中特性から、BZOナノロッドの数密度によって、特定の磁場領域のJ_cが向上した。これらの結果から、LTG法を用いてT_s^<upper>を変えることによりBZOの数密度を変化させることで、比較的高い超伝導特性を維持したまま任意の磁場のピンニング特性を向上させることが可能であることがわかった。
