Research Abstract |
With a part of research for development of fresh marine notes in algae, following research results were obtained. A novel heme protein, which catalyzes oxygenation of polyunsaturated fatty acids affording oxylipins in Chapter I. Both enantiomers of neodictyoprolene and neodictyoprolenol reminiscent of algae, were successfully obtained by chemo-enzymatic syntheses, and their attractive olfactory properties were found in Chapter II. The biosynthetic intermediates of characteristic long-chain aldehydes were identified as (2R)-hydrperoxy fatty acids in green algae in Chapter III. The (Z)-unsaturated dienenals and trienals of CィイD217ィエD2 and CィイD216ィエD2 were stereoselectively synthesized and their olfactory evaluation showed a variety of applications in perfume industry in Chapter IV.
