Research Abstract |
A result of a basic research to develop non-destructive analytic method for crystalline material with preferential oriented texture is presented as follows. 1. Development of the analytic system of 3-dimensional crystalline texture by x-ray topographic method. A modified Laue method is used for obtaining nondestructively the information about the unidirectionally oriented crystalline texture. X-ray photographs of oriented crystals can be made with nearly pararrel beams from a point source of white radiation located far from the surface of the crystal itself. Diffraction system with a narrow long slit system was employed. 2. Non-destructive analysis of the unidirectionally solidified texture Cast aluminum strips produced using the open type, heted mold continuous casting(Ohno Strip Casting)process was used. A strongly oriented texture shows clear "Lane lines". There is a correlation between change in pattern and texture informations obtained from the destructive methods..
