For diversification of products, recently, distributed process control has become desired more and more. In distributed process control systems, various devices made by different companies are mixed and affect each other. Therefore, it is difficult to develop control programs of distributed process control systems, so standardizing a description method of distributed control logic, improvement of software development environment, and transforming past programs to a new standard format are necessary.
We pay attention to Function Block (FB) description for distributed control systems, which is establishing in IEC (International Electric Committee) TC65, and developed a programming tool for distributed process control by using FB. In order to realize this tool, specifications of functions about hierarchical structure, simulation for verification, etc. were analized.
Another support methods has also proposed; a method to extract control programs in a radder diagram form input/output signals of existing plants, a method to transform the logic to control flows, etc.
By the development of a programming tool which equips a standardizing description and relevant technologies to support it, basis to use the tool in practical has been established.
