Research Abstract |
This study aims to make clear the political canvas of Meiji restoration. This study used the political document of Tbsa feudal clan, KAINANSEITEN, and the geographical description of feudal clan Hiroshima, GEIHANTUSI.This two historical records was compiled by two feudal clan to achieve the political reform of the first half of 19^<th> century Japan. A political leader of Tosa feudal clan, Yoshida Toyo, achieved to reorganize the political organization and the reinforcement of the military power. KAINANSEITEN laid the foundation of the regime framework. Also Monarchy restoration later, it prepared the reform idea of Tosa feudal clan administration. The Tokugawa shogunate and Daimyos accumulated all knowledge about the land and peoples, and completed civilization consciousness, history consciousness. Those knowledge and the government art reflected in these two political documents. Also Hiroshima feudal clan grasped the situation of the history, geographical characteristic, and the production of the territory through the compilation of this geographical description.
