| Research Abstract |
Total medical care of children is overall treatment for diseases related to cycle from the whole pregnancy to the after-birth period and successive treatment for mothers, unborn babies, new-born infants, carry-overs, adolescent children and adults.
In this field, specialists have no barriers and give treatment that meets the needs the of subjects. In view of this idea of the total care of children, problems relating to pregnancy and motor vehicles should be considered; for example, the prevention of accidents involving infants and the emergency system. The necessity for child restraint systems (CRS) was widely discussed in Japan before it became compulsory in April 1, 2000. In this research, the investigators considered the surroundings of CRS in the years before, of and after the legislation (1999 to2001), presented their private plan of "Support systems for maternal and child health", and showed the importance of a midwifery management as it related to maternal and child healthcare and emergency treatment. One practical example was the approach to mothers' classes.
The investigators also gave model lessons in regard to "life" and "mind" to midwifery students at university and developed virtual reality lessons.
