Research Abstract |
The aim of this research project is the construction of new systematic theory of moral education for the sake of the firm acknowledgement as a science. We have thought "What is moral education?" from following viewpoints, (1)from a clinical viewpoint, (2)from an etymological viewpoint, (3)from a axiological viewpoint, (4)from a bioethical viewpoint, (5)from a western philosophical viewpoint, (6)from a literary viewpoint, (7)from a Buddhistic viewpoint. We agree with following points, (1)there is an insufficiency of the teacher training system in Japanese universities to educate students who have an enough information and knowledge about moral education, therefore it is necessary to take "Moral Education" 4 credits, (2)it is important to think about religious background, (3)for growing up the morality of students, important is liberal arts in university, (4)in school education, it is necessary to understand key concepts "Autonomy, Self-determination, Dignity of Human Life, To live together" and carry those concepts into practice, (5)finally, moral education is synthetic and inter-disciplinary.
