Research Abstract

最終年度におけるそれぞれのサブテーマの実績概要は以下のとおりである
1.EISCATレーダーによる極域電磁圏熱圏大気ダイナミックスに関しては2003年11月11日から19日における8日間のキャンペーンデータ等をもとに、流星レーダー等との比較、イオン温度からの中性温度の導出における定量的な誤差評価、中性温度における大気潮汐成分の解析検討、F層イオン温度の緯度分布と電離層等価電流の分布の比較による両者の密接な関連の解明等を行った さらに下部熱圏における大気ダイナミクスの理解のため、EISCATキャンペーン観測データ解析から準2日波、大気潮汐波、平均風の高度変動および緯度変動、イオンドラッグ加速度、コリオリ加速度、および全加速度の導出とそれらの比較を通してのイオンドラッグの重要性の吟味等を行った。またオーロラ粒子エネルギー導出のための4波長フォトメータ観測をトロムソにて実施し、電子密度高度分布をEISCAT観測データと比較した
2.流星レーダーによる極域中間圏・下部熱圏大気ダイナミックス観測ではスバルバールでの4年余の連続観測により、極域大気潮汐波クライマトロジーの解明を行うとともに、トロムソ流星レーダー、EISCATレーダー、MFレーダーとの観測値の直接比較、NSMRレーダーとの比較による大気潮汐波モードの解明、高エコー率を利用しての大気重力波の水辺伝播方向解析と平均流とのかかわり、運動量輸送等について検討した
3.HFレーダーによる極域電磁気圏・熱圏ダイナミックスの観測については、EISCATヒーティング装置を用いたSuperDARN CUTLASSレーダーとの共同実験により周期の異なる地磁気脈動の励起伝播について興味ある結果を得た
4.オーロラ夜光スペクロトグラフによる極冠域オーロラ・夜光の観測では、酸素原子発光および酸素イオン輝線発光と、ESRによる電離層の電子温度・密度、イオン温度、イオン速度の同時観測データから、低エネルギー電子降下時に磁力線に沿った速度数100m/sのイオン上昇流が発生することを定量的に明らかにした。
5.ALISによるオーロラ・大気光トモグラフィ観測では、ヒーティングとの同時観測、しし座流星群の光学観測などが試みられたほか、先端的逆問題手法のトモグラフィー解析への応用研究を始めた
6.数値モデリングと総合解析においては中間圏・熱圏下部における半日潮汐波の日々変動について、大気大循環モデルによる数値シミュレーションにより調べた。特に、下層大気変動が、中間圏・熱圏下部の半日潮汐波に及ぼす影響および太陽放射量の日々変動(F10.7の日々変動)が熱圏の大気潮汐波に及ぼす影響を調べた。また流星レーダーで見出された12時間周期付近のスペクトル等についてもモデルによる検討を行った
