Research Abstract |
Several statistical methods have been developed to analyze actual data, which include measurements of water quality in Tokyo Bay, measurements of concentrations of dioxins in environment, measurements of the precipitation radar of Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission, animal genome and some epidemiological data. 1. A Bayesian space-time seasonal adjustment method was developed to analyze Tokyo Bay pollution data. The method revealed characteristics of space-time variation of water quality in Tokyo Bay including water temperature, salinity, COD, DO, nitrogen and phosphor. 2. To estimate source contributions to concentrations of dioxins bi various environmental media, a Chemical Mass Balance method was developed based on functional relationship analysis. The method was applied to several data sets. 3. A generalized method was developed to derive a raindrop size distribution model over a space domain. 4. A Bayesian method to predict gene location in animals was developed using linkage map of mouse.
