Research Abstract

有機分子あるいは有機固体などの有機分子材料の光反応あるいは化学反応をナノ領域において行わせ、究極的には、これらの反応を超高密度光メモリあるいは超微細加工へ応用することを目的とした。本年度は、2光子吸収係数の大きいフォトクロミック分子および単一分子光メモリのためのフォトクロミック分子を合成し、それらの評価を行った。D-π-D型のダイマー構造をもつ2種のジアリールエテンを合成し、それらのフォトクロミック反応性と2光子吸収係数の測定を行った。この2種の化合物はともに効率の良いフォトクロミック反応性を示した。まだ絶対値は不確かであるが、これまで最大であったジアリールジシアノ誘導体よりも大きい2光子吸収係数をもつことが確認された。単一分子メモリに関しては、昨年、アントラセン基をもつジアリールエテン誘導体を合成し、単一分子状態において光スイッチ挙動を計測すると、溶液系においては見出されることのない、光反応量子収率の揺らぎが観測された。これには、(1)分子一つ一つが異なった分子環境にあるためと(2)分子固有の現象であるとの2つの解釈が成り立つ。どちらが主たる原因であるかを明らかにするために、ペリレン基をもつジアリールエテンを合成し、その光応答挙動を検討した。その結果、同一の分子においても光反応量子収率の揺らぎがみとめられ、揺らぎは、分子固有のものであることが示唆された。
