Research Abstract |
The suggestions or results got by this research are summerized as follows. (1)In America honors program was introduced to improve educational programs or instructional methods for able students and to complement the weekness of university credit system. (2)The practices of honors program were very various and those could be classified into following two types. One was imcomplete type to be exempted a few ordinary courses, the other was complete type to be exempted most courses and to be obligated to take a final examination. (3)The present honors program is a little bit different from the early practices. Some universities have.special courses for honors students or have self-designed programs in which students choose the activities they participate. (4)Honors program should be diversed in accordance with professional fields. We need to understand it as the problem of an educational program, or a curriculum and instructional improvement rather than that of entrance examination.
