Research Abstract |
The aim of this research project is, to make clear about the volume of granitic melt that evolved by partial melting of pelitic metamorphic rocks. Therefore it is important to connect the metamorphic petrology with the igneous petrology. In the first year of the term on this project, I provide "the low contamination rock crushing laboratory". Therefore I bought a jaw-crusher and other rock-crushing equipments. This preparation is as good as done. But it had remained as a problem, that contamination of Cr from the jaw metal to some sample is not negligible, in case of such as acidic rocks. Scientific research has been done on the Hidaka Metamorphic Belt and on the Uetsu area. Especially, spinel + quartz assemblage is found from the Uetsu area, is one of the important results. It is the first finding from the Japanese Island. I revealed that such as the ultrahigh temperature metamorphism could be occur in the island-arc condition (Shimura et al., 2002 in press). Then we could describe the relation, such as the crustal materials and igneous rocks (Kagashima and Shimura, 2001). In the Hidaka Metamorphic Belt, corundum-andalusite-tourmaline pegmatite vein is fined out. It is important thing for the future study on the heat history of the Hidaka Crust.
