Research Abstract |
To investigate the molecular mechanism of the tooth development, we have examined the specific genes for tooth differentiation and the effect of the gene products on the tooth differentiation using adenovirus vector. (1) Differentiation of tooth germ We investigated the several genes for differentiation and reported the results. (2) Gene transfection to cultured cells (ST2 and C2C12) To confirm the activity of the used genes, ALK1〜7(receptor of BMP family) and Smad gene were transfected to the cells. Some of them stimulated the BMP signaling. (3) Gene transfection to mouse tooth germs in organ culture system. We investigated the effect of ALK1〜7 (constitutive active type) on mouse tooth germ in organ culture system. Some of them differentiated the tooth in early stage as well as BMP ligand. These results suggest that the family genes are important role in tooth differentiation at early tooth development.
