Research Abstract |
Purpose of this study were to consider frameworks of community health nursing diagnosis process, to develop methods of the community assessment guideline and to apply them to education. First, we considered frameworks of community health nursing diagnosis process. The guideline of community assessment of Japanese version based the Community as Partner Model was developed in 2000. There are one core and eight categories. A community core includes history, demographics, life style of people and values and beliefs. Eight categories are physical environment, health and social services, economic, safety and transportations, politic and government, communication, education, recreation. Community assessment tools for education using University of Colorado were translated in Japanese. Second, we applied the community assessment guideline to our undergraduate education programs. Categories of health status of people, things of related policies and media and publications were difficult to observe and record for undergraduate students. In addition to these, we also considered the methods of pioneering education skills using Internet, CD-ROM or original education tools in University of McMaster.
