Research Abstract |
This study aims to collect the basic evidences in order to compare practical competence in initial teacher education between Japan and United Kingdom. It focuses on collecting the evidences of practical competence for teaching at school expereriences. The contents of the documentation of the research project are summarized as follows : 1) This study grasped the new trend in the initial teacher education in Japan and United Kingdom. The report on the results was expressed at Chapter 1 & 2. 2) This study collected the syllabus and the programme of initial teacher training of Loughborough Univ., Brighton Univ., Kiel Univ., and Manchester Univ. as the case in United Kingdom. The programme of the primary PGCE course of the initial teacher training at Loughborough Univ. was expressed at Annexes 1. 3) This study grasped the extent of the implementation about trainees' planning and teaching in PE lessons at the attached primary schools of the Hiroshima University. Furthermore this study clarified the change of trainees' concern about teaching in PE lessons before and after the school experiences. The report on the results was accepted as the article by Hiroshima Journal of School Education vol. 8. (Chapter 3) 4) The study grasped the awareness of both trainees and mentors about teaching at the school experiences at the attached schools of the state universities in Japan. The report on the results was expressed at Chapter 4. 5) The study grasped the awareness of both trainees and mentors about teaching in physical education at the school experiences in primary PGCE course of Loughborough Univ. in U.K. The report on the results was expressed at Chapter 5.
