Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
I genotyped population samples originating from a series of my laboratory experiments with multiple hybrid populations of fruit flies (Drosophila melanogaster) bred from Australian isofemale fruit fly lineages in Sanyo environmental chambers at OIST under different thermal conditions. These samples were genotyped by the Sequenom genotyping system. I characterized raw genotypic data by multiple software packages (e.g. Arlequin, Genepop, Genetix, Genalex, and R) to determine whether frequencies of newly identified alleles are significantly altered within my experimental populations, and if so how any differences correlate with thermal conditions. Based on my results, I'm currently preparing a manuscript for submission to an international scientific journal (Ecology Letters).
