Outline of Annual Research Achievements

■エボラ禍により渡航できず、代わりに北欧アフリカ研究所で客員研究員として滞在した■平成26年度はリベリア、シエラレオネがエボラ出血熱の災禍に巻き込まれたため渡航できず研究が十分に進まなかった。渡航予定であった期間、および、現地調査費用を流用する形で北欧アフリカ研究所(Nordic Africa Institute)で二か月間客員研究員をし、現地の研究者と交流を行った。
■３つの口頭発表を行った■本年度の研究成果の口頭発表は三本ある。日本アフリカ学会での発表は、シエラレオネ人難民で内戦下のリベリアへと逃げざるを得なかった人々の経験を紹介することで、武装勢力の統治下で人々がいかなる暮らしをしているのかについて発表した。また、国際人類学民族誌学連合(International Union of Anthropology and Ethnographic Sciences: IUAES)の発表では、武装勢力の幹部がいかに人脈を用いて活動を展開しているのかを明らかにした。さらに、京都大学がカメルーンで12月に開催した国際会議では、元司令官が紛争後に部隊のコネクションを通じて新しいビジネスに乗り出していることを明らかにした。
■本研究プロジェクトの成果の一部を書籍として発表した■2015年2月に昭和堂から『アフリカの内戦と武装勢力―シエラレオネにみる人脈ネットワークの生成と変容―』を上梓した。本書は、シエラレオネの内戦の動きを中心に、研究成果をまとめたものである。
