Research Abstract |
At the 38^<th> Annual Conference of Japan Comparative Education Society which was held in Kyushu Univ. on 29^<th> of June, 2002, four research members presented the papers of the study outcomes. They explained the privatization conditions of higher education in Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia. Some researchers made surveys of higher education of India and China in September, Vietnam and China in November, 2002 and Korea, in January, 2003. They visited the Ministry of Education and the institutions of secondary and higher education in each country and got the information on the situation of the privatization. In China and Vietnam the governments promoted a de-regularization for secondary and higher education. As a result there increased the private schools and universities which tried innovative education. In India and Korea some national universities implemented the privatization making relation with private companies. On 21^<st> of December, 2002 there was held a study results and discussed how to make a final study report. In March of 2003 a final study report was published. The researchers studying about the education of Korea, Malaysia and Indonesia made the reports on the privatization of higher education. On the other hand those studying about China, the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand and Singapore did on that of both secondary and higher education.
