Research Abstract |
Evolvable Hardware (EHW) is a hardware which modifies its own hardware structure according to the environmental changes. EHW is implemented on a programmable logic device (PLD), whose architecture can be altered by downloading a binary bit string, I.e., architecture bits. In this research, we have used Genetic Programming for the purpose of the evolutionary design. In designing a hardware, key issues are robustness and flexibility. The proposed GP-based design has been proven to be useful for the wide area of applications,, such as evolutionary robotics, circuit designs, and gene regulatory network inferences. The effectiveness of our approach is shown by comparative experiments and successful applications.
