Research Abstract |
1. THE USE OF CHEMICAL AND ELECTROCHEMICAL PROCESS IN VERIFYING THE MECHANISM OF ELECTRODEPOSITION IN A CRACK-REPAIRED REINFORCED CONCRETE CONFIRMED THE SUITABILITY OF THIS METHOD FOR LAND-BASED REINFORCED CONCRETE MEMBER. 2. BOTH OF CRACKS IN UNDER GROUND MEMBER AND LAND-BASED MEMBER COULD BE CLOSED BY ELECTRODEPOSITION METHOD. 3. THE CLOSURE DEPTH OF ELECTRODEPOSITS OF UNDERGROUND MEMBER WAS SMALLER THAN THAT OF LAND-BASED MEMBER. 4. THE CRACKS WITH WATER LEAKAGE IN AN EXISTING REINFORCED CONCRETE MEMBER ON LAND COULD BE CLOSED USING THE APPROPRIATE ELECTRODEPOSITION CONDITIONS THROUGH THE FIELD TEST. 5. IN THIS RESEARCH THE DURABILITY OF REINFORCED CONCRETE REPAIRED BY ELECTRODEPOSITION METHOD WAS INVESTIGATED. AS A RESULT, IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE REPAIR EFFECT CAN BE KEPT EVEN AFTER 2-YEARS PERIOD EXPOSURE. 6. THE APPARENT WATER PERMEABILITY OF ELECTRO-DEPOSITED CONCRETE AFTER 2-YEAR PERIOD EXPOSED WAS MUCH SMALLER THAN THAT OF NON-ELECTRODEPOSITED CONCRETE WITH CRACK. 7. ELECTRODEPOSITED CONCRETE AFTER 2-YEAR PERIOD EXPOSED HAD A STABLE CLOSED CRACK CONDITION BECAUSE IT WAS PROPERLY SEALED AND COATED WITH ELECTRODEPOSITS. 8. FROM THE VIEWPOINT OF DURABILITY, THE RESULTS OF THE EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATIONS INDICATED THAT ELECTRODEPOSITION METHOD WAS AN EFFECTIVE CRACK REPAIR METHOD BECAUSE IT HAD A CRACK CLOSING EFFECT, RE-ALKALIZATION EFFECT, AND CORROSION PROTECTION EFFECT THAT STABILIZED THE REPAIRED SECTION OF REINFORCED CONCRETE MEMBER.
