Research Abstract |
In August 2001, we visited Institute of Forestry in Yezin to apply for joint study on 'sustainable forest management and indigenous uses of forest resources in Myanmar'. In November to December 2001, research members could visit Bago Yoma, Shan State and Kachin State for preliminary observation. Memorandum of Agreement between University of Forestry (Institute of Forestry) and Japanese Research Team was signed on March 2002. Memorandum of Understanding between Yezin Agricultural University and Center for Southeast Asian Studies, and the Graduate School of Asian and African Area Studies was also signed. In 2002 and 2003, field research was done in Bago Yoma, Shan State and Kachin State. The results of research were presented at joint seminar in Yangon on 3 March 2004.
