Research Abstract |
1. Furnace fabrication: (1) For the solid observation, the rotation degree of vertical axis ±45°was possible. (2) Material was selected to prevent false image and to get enough image contrast. (3) Maximum sample size was 15mm x 15mm and thickness 0.2-2.0mm, and 1200℃ the highest heating temperature 2. Heating method : (1) Heater sheets sandwich the sample. For insulating the sample, thinner alumina sheets are appropriate. When thickness is 0.15mm, S/N ratio is good. Heater sheets were made by sintering carbon sheet of the 0.5mm in thickness, with BN sheets 0 heater cover. (2) On synchrotron radiation energy dependence of the imaging, about 30keV is appropriate. The absorption contrast weakens over 40keV. (3) The effect of surface ruggedness and roughness of degrading images was ignored, if they are machine polishing and electropolishing finish. 3. Detector : The SATICON tube direct method x-ray television is combined with on-line image processing equipment. And the observation with quantitativity, super sensitivity, high time resolution and high space resolution is realized. And space resolving power becomes almost 10μm. Super sensitivity=low noise observation become possible with the 1/3 seconds as a time resolution. Visicon tube direct method x-ray television has poor space resolving power. Imaging plate has insufficient space resolving power. And X-ray film is the nonlinear analog detector. 4. The optimum technique: It is optimum direct observation technique of steel sheets for refraction and absorption imaging at high temperature, to use direct method x-ray television SATICON tube system arranged with synchrotron radiation energy 30keV in Spring-8. The optimum technique of the heating was as follows. Heater sheets, made by sintering thin carbon sheets, sandwich the sample. For insulating, thin alumina sheets are used with the BN sheets as heater cover.
