Research Abstract |
To obtain the original purpose of the project, present knowledge concerning the 3 dimensional structure of mouse spleen was quite limited, so, I had to clarify the 3 dimensional structure of mouse spleen, especially in terms with the vascular system. The summary of the findings obtained during this year is as follows; 1.Based on SEM images, there are the vascular systems that correspond to artery and vein. However, they showed unusual vascular system, namely, bundled tubular structure and diverged into thin cords with their characteristic configuration, resulted in a loose meshwork. Not only the central artery, but "funnel shaped" artery also flowed into the white pulp. Another type of vascular system corresponding vein stemed from white pulp. 2.The findings obtained by fluorescence histochemistry well coincided with that of SEM. Lymphocyte, dendritic cells and macrophages, located in the wall of thick artery, were prominent. It suggests those cells transfer to the white pulp from those thick arteries through the red pulp. 3.When LPS was loaded, some dendritic cells transfer to PALS through the central artery. 4.The precursor of marginal metallophilic macrophage escaped from both thick trunk artery and middle artery in the red pulp, form a cluster and transfered to the boundary of marginal zone and follicle.
