Research Abstract

The researcher made fieldworks two or three times on each object region these two years, and collected the questionnaires about the circumstances of the location and the use of life-support functions by the inhabitants. The functions are composed of hospital, shopping and eating facility, financier, travel agent, bookstore, high school, driving school, library etc.
In Furano region, many inhabitants use the high-grade functions on Asahikawa City, which is ranked as a regional core city.
In Tono region, the inhabitants of Miyamori Village which is neighboring with Tono City use less of the functions on Tono City.
In Unnan Region which has no center city the inhabitants use the high-grade functions of Izumo City or Miyoshi City, the latter is located in Hiroshima Prefecture.
In Aso Region, the behaviors are divided into four directions, and the high-grade functions of Kumamoto City cover this region.
There appeared the very strong force of prefectural capital city which pulls the people living in very large area. So we should promote the life-support functions of small cities which are near center of the inhabitants by the regional cooperation for the creation of the nature-rich residential areas.
