Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では、鉄などの磁性金属や金や銅などの非磁性金属をトポロジカル絶縁体の表面に微量蒸着し、表面および金属原子がインターカレートされた界面構造および表面電子状態を解明することを目的としている。平成26年度は、広島大学放射光科学研究センターにおいてトポロジカル絶縁体Bi2Se3に条件を変えながら数原子層の金（Au）を蒸着し、角度分解光電子分光によりその電子状態を調べた。その結果、基板の温度に依存してある臨界的なAu膜厚が存在し、それを超えるとトポロジカル表面準位が顕著に変化することを明らかにした。トポロジカル絶縁体TlBiSe2については、STM像の観察および内殻準位の光電子回折パターンから、劈開面においてはちょうど一原子層分だけ高さが異なる島状構造が存在し、それはセレンの欠陥に由来することが示唆された。フリブール大学との国際共同研究でスイス放射光実験施設においてX線光電子回折実験を行い、第一原理バンド理論で解析を進めた。さらにプラハ大学の理論グループと共同して、表面の格子欠陥がある場合、格子定数がどうなるのかについて、多重散乱理論を用いた解析を進めた。またTl5d内殻準位で観測された表面・バルクの内殻準位シフトについて理論的解析を進めた。
