Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究は,超高温延性領域内における地熱開発時の,誘発微小地震の発生に関して岩石学・地震学の新理論を導出するとともに数値シミュレーション,室内実験等により貯留層内外での地震発生現象の解明を試みる。これにより,超高温延性領域内における能動的地熱開発時の誘発微小地震の発生可能性,発生メカニズム,有感地震発生リスク,微小地震による貯留層モニタリングの可能性を明らかにする事を目的とした。
初年度,誘発微小地震発生に関わる岩石力学・地震学的理論の導出より,超高温延性領域における地熱開発時に発生すると考えられる熱応力を理解することが必要であると考えた。2年目には実験的に,超高温延性領域と同等な条件下で高温の岩体に対して注水実験等を行うことで,熱応力を再現しその現象の解明,破壊への寄与の解明に迫ることとした。そこで,モルタルで作成する模擬岩石内にあらかじめ歪ゲージを埋め込むみ,さらに引っ張りき裂を作成し,模擬既存き裂とすることで,既存き裂を含む模擬岩石試験片を用いる。さらに,高温真三軸試験器を用い,高温・封圧下にある試験片に冷却水を注入し,生じる熱歪みを直接測定しようとする実験機構を考案した。ここで計測される熱歪みから,熱応力は計算できると考えた。最終年度には,実験装置に改造を施し,高温の試験片内の歪みをモニター可能にした。引っ張りき裂を有する試験片を用いて予備実験を何度か行い透水試験を行うことに成功した。しかし,実験装置の改造,実験ノウハウの蓄積に反して,度重なる実験装置の制御系の故障・ヒータ等の基幹となる部品の損傷等によって,本期間内に明らかに有意な実験結果を得ることはできなかった。しかし,これまで蓄積してきた実験ノウハウや環境整備,更には予備実験を始めとする基礎データは,非常に価値があり,本実験の成功まであと一歩ということ所まで達成できたと言える。
