Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本年度は以前の2年にかけて行ってきた音響場に関する形態可変ディスプレイの研究に加え,レーザーを用いたライトフィールド再生による空中像ディスプレイや触覚ディスプレイを開発・研究した.具体的にはフェムト秒レーザーを用いた映像提示・触覚提示に関する2本の研究が,SIGGRAPHおよびCHIという分野のトップカンファレンスに受理された.また,本研究テーマを用いたアート表現を行い,アルスエレクトロニカセンターをはじめとして,国内外で展示によるアウトリーチを行った.また,当該年度から筑波大学にて研究室を開設し,分野のさらなる発展に向けて,本研究テーマで培ったヒューマンインターフェースに関する知見をより深めていく予定である.
最終年度までの3年間で本研究テーマは当初予定していたよりも広範囲で実施することができ,研究業績,アウトリーチともに成果を上げることができた.形態可変ディスプレイに関する複数の物理場に関する演算はフーリエ変換型の計算機ホログラムとして書き換えることができ,それによって,さらに電磁波も含めて分野として捉えることが可能である.フーリエ変換型のホログラムを用いた複数の物理場を組み合わせることによる触覚ディスプレイなどの開発も当研究グループで進んでおり,形態可変ディスプレイという物体を想定したテーマから,場の演算や生成といったより計算機演算に近いテーマに移行しつつある.それらをまとめ上げた論文もSID2016の招待論文として再録された.これからもこの分野をより進めていきたい.
