Research Abstract

本研究では,強相関を利用した薄膜の形成が,具体的にどのような機構で実現するのかを実験的に明らかにするため,新しい分光解析法を構築するところから研究を開始した。
これには,通常の光の概念を越えた,縦波の光に相当する仮想光を仮定し,これを薄膜に垂直透過させた時の透過光強度を利用して,全く新しい計測光学理論を作った。この際,入射角変化に線形に応答する成分と非線形応答成分を分離するための回帰式をはじめて計測理論に利用し,次のような全く新しい機能を発揮する分光計測法の構築に成功した。
(1)非金属基板上での純面外モードスペクトルの測定が初めて可能になった
(2)面内モードスペクトルとの同時計測が可能になった
(3)偏光子を使わない偏光スペクトル測定が実現した
(4)光学パラメータを必要としない分子配向解析が初めて実現した
これらのメリットのうち,(4)は特に重要で,これまで解析できなかったキャスト膜やスピンコート膜の解析を実現させることのできる,画期的な要項である。
この方法は多角入射分解分光法(MAIRS)と名づけ,実際の薄膜解析にも応用した。例えば,海外研究協力者のLeblancとは新しい膜構造の水素結合解析に成功し,J.Phys.Chem.Bに成果を公表した。また,千葉大の山田哲弘氏とは,水素結合とロイシンファスナーの強相関現象を利用した単分子膜の構造解析に挑み,世界で初めてロイシンファスナーのかみ合い機構をとらえることに成功し,現在投稿準備をしている。
