Research Abstract |
The following are the main results of our collective research project on "Study of Global Civil Society". (1)Document Collections : We have gathered the data and documents relating civil societies in UK(Oxfam, Amnesty, Make the Poverty History, etc.), Germany(Green Party, etc.), Netherlands(Green Peace, etc.), Bangladesh(Grameen Bank, etc.), Korea(union movement, etc.) and Japan. (2)Theoretical Models : We have constructed a three dimensional theoretical model : 1)capability of individual citizens, 2)network interactions among civil society agents in domestic and cross-border relations, 3)relations of civil society networks with state actors and business corporations. (3)Power Dimension : Utilizing the data and models, we have measured the powers and participations of the chosen NGOs in the particular issue-areas in domestic and international decision-makings. (4)Economic Dimensions : We have calculated the rough statistics of budgets of the chosen NGOs. (5)Legitimacy Dimensions : We have investigated the legitimization/de-legitimization factors of the chosen NGOs in the particular international issue-areas.
