Research Abstract |
This Project is to collect all Prefectural Military Government Documents (MG documents) in the Occupation period, to open it. The last purpose is to make the situation that can take advantage of the documents effectively. We collected about 35000 sheets in U.S.A. National Archives, and donated a set of copied Documents to National Diet Library in 2005. Basic work was to make Lists and Abstracts of every prefectures. Number of detailed Lists and Abstracts became total 42 in Documents Group, and has 36 with prefectures distinction document after 1946. Because most of study cooperators were inexperienced in MG Research, We learned Prefectural Occupation Organizations and understanding method. We achieved the researcher training for Occupied Japan studies. This Project will contribute to raise the Occupation Studies to a new stage as the whole.
