Research Abstract |
We researched related works dating from the Three Kingdoms period to the Koryo dynasty in the collections of Gyeongju National Museum, Taegu National Museum, Buyeo National Museum, Chongju National Museum, and Chonnam University Museum with assistance of Korean researchers. The research resulted in detailed reports, photographs, and scale, drawings of 12 sculptural works and 10 decorative art and archaeological objects. In Japan, we researched related works preserved or excavated in Japan and made their detailed reports, photographs, and scale drawings. During the 2 years 1,202 35mm color slides,1,136 digitized images,130 6x6 color transparencies were made. 2 sets of duplicates and 3 sets of prints of the 35mm slides were prepared, all the 3 sets of slides were mounted. 2 sets each of slides and prints are kept by the Japanese researchers, and 1 set each of them are kept by the Korean researchers. The images recorded in CDs are kept by both the Japanese and the Korean researchers, and each researcher was provided with a CD containing images of the works he/she researches. 3 sets of prints of the images taken with digital cameras were produced, and 2 sets are kept by the Japanese researchers and 1 set is kept by the Korean researchers. These images are also kept in the computer network within the Tokyo National Museum, so that they are accessible to. all the researchers at any time. Based, on these materials, a report including 78 pages of text and 160 pages of illustrations were produced and distributed to museums and researchers in Japan as well as museums, research institutions, and researchers in Korea.
