Research Abstract |
The Center for the Research and Support for Educational Practice has conducted research to organize information concerning supportive methods for children with developmental disabilities. Such database also needs to include information on teaching programs for specific disabilities such as autism, as well as information on educational apporaches in other countries which employ inclusive education. The purpose of the project was to construct database which links assessment information to educational programs, by collecting and organizeng relevant data. During the first year, information was obtained on educational programs for children with disabilities employed by public and private schools and those for adults with disabilities in London by on-site visit. In order to build an interactive database system which can be operated on internet, the basic structure was designed, and the formats of the Individual Educational Programs(IEP) which were utilized in Japanese public schools were collected to be incorporated into this system. The database also contained information concerning various facilities, such as hospitals and schools, which provide services to children with disabilities. In the last year, the above data was combined with the educational support database (Internet IEP Databank, Developmental Disability Checklist, and Developmental Assessment System), the assessment-support program database, and the instructional plan database.
