| Research Abstract |
The aim of this research policy was to investigate into the possibilities for Conversion to Environmentally Sustainable Economies in Asian region, especially in focusing the following five aspects ;
(1)research policy on industrial development and pollution,
(2)research policy on resource development and soil pollution,
(3)research policy on wastes,
(4)research policy on energy strategy,
(5)research policy on conservation of natural resources and ocean resources.
On the base of the above investigations, the 6^<th> Asia-Pacific Environmental Conference was held in Taiwan on November 2002,the International Symposium on Environmental Management in Asian Region' was held in Thailand on November 2003,and also the International workshop on ‘Environmental Cooperation in Asian Region' was held in Matsuyama on March 2005.
The outcomes of this research policy was published. as ‘Ajia Kankyo Hakusho 2003-2004'(in Japanese) by Inc. Toyokeizai Publishing company, and also as ‘The State of the Environment in Asia 2002-2003', ‘The State of the Environment in Asia 2005-2006'(both in English) by Springer Verlag.
