Research Abstract |
The effect of antianesthetic drug on the GABAergic current induced by anesthetics were investigated. Method : Rats (17-20 days old) were used. Whole brain was removed and sliced in the cold icy saline. Thalalmic LD cells were identified under microscope. Whole cell recordings were made and GABAergic inhibitory currents were recorded while perfused with Ian solution bubbled with 95% O2 and 5% CO2. The effect of anesthetics (0.5% halothane and 0.5% sevoflurane) was first recorded, and then myristate or doxapram was applied with anesthetics for 10 to 15 min. and washed out. Result : Anesthetic-induced augmentation of GABAergic currents was slightly subsided by myristate or doxapram.
