Research Abstract |
A number of cyclosporiasis is seen on Southeast Asia or South America. The possibility of so-called afferent infection disease which is carried into our country from developing countries cannot deny, either. In this research, Cyclospora (Cyclospora cayetanensis) was examined under comparison with Cryptosporidium and Giardia. Cyclospora is a chlorine tolerance protozoan and is anxious for mass outbreak. Examination mainly consists of four items. Since Cyclospora was not detected in the aquatic environment, risk was evaluated for Giardia. The evaluation pointed out that inhabitants and medical doctors are interested in protozoan diseases. Ultrasonic wave, ultraviolet disinfection, and chlorination were compared about the disinfection effect. Recently, inactivation of Cryptosporidium by ultraviolet disinfection attracts attention. The validity of ultraviolet disinfection was shown in the experiments and disinfection effect was also accepted with ultrasonic disinfection. In WHO, 10 mJ/cm^2 had determined as a measure against Cryptosporidium. Cyclospora would be also enough for inactivation with this value. The test methods of Gryptosporidium are detected existence of oocysts, and they cannot evaluate existence of infection. Moreover, infection examination with mouse and cell culture is also difficult for the check of the infection of each oocyst. As a part of the evaluation of infection, heat-treated t2ryptosporidium was evaluated combining a cultivation cell method and the PCR method. Consequently, knowledge that infection could not see with heat-treated at 50 degrees and for 90 seconds or more was acquired. This was a big result. On the other hand, Cyclospora was propagated using cell culture. This was a big result.
