Research Abstract |
From the view of comparative analysis of group housing for person with intellectual disabilities with six countries in Europe, we could see that there are two groups in several subjects, for example living conditions, housing type, quality of square, plan-type, composition of common space etc. Nordic three countries, Norway Sweden and Denmark, have advanced in many subjects. Especially in Norway and Sweden which are the countries finished to close down the institutions already. We could see the concept that living condition should be arranged for residents to be to maximize their ability. Group housing in Denmark, is tending to be adapted in common space. On the other aspects, housing style adapted to individual solution in Sweden, Norwegian and Danish housing are trying to adapt to residents by high-quality standards. In other three countries, Finland Germany and Netherlands, most of them are "shared housing" type and common space is much more than private space. However there have had some leading examples in Finland and Netherlands. I suppose that quality of group housing in these countries will be getting better to similar condition of Nordic Three countries in near future. Present situation and trends by the data of this research is quite useful for Japan in now a days. We clarified many characteristics from various aspects in this final report.
