Research Abstract |
This research paper discusses the palicy making processes of work-sharing in the industrial relations system and the effects of reduction in the standard of working hours in France and in the Netherlands. The Netherlands has promoted creating part-time workers since 1980's, although France tried creating full-time workers by reducing weekly working time 39 hours to 35 hours. The Netherlans' model is dominated by indivisdual workin time reduction, and French model is dominated by traditional collective working time reduction. There are different assessments on the Netherlands' model, but positive estimation was predominant on Frech model in the early years of 2000's.
