Research Abstract	This research by exploring the relation between the actual condition on installation of the maintenance management situation of city environmental installation's, and the product performance of city environmental equipment In both sides of register legibility(Intelligibility) by which the city environmental formation which clarifies factors exerted on environmental formation of a street, such as influence and an effect, and is durable in the factor is asked for city environmental installation's, and ambiguity(Diversity) It is the purpose to draw the index of the city environmental installation's design method for utilizing and building. The main issue of this study is to find out the continuity of the planning of shopping malls in downtown area, Japan, and to find out tendencies of the current existing malls until today. This document is summary of survey on the actual conditions of the current malls and questionnaire from local governments in those areas. The survey and questionnaire were focused for the following three points ; the constitution of malls, public space and environment devices around them. As a result, this study can summarize reason and change of reconstruction which shows how streets in malls, public space and environment devices were kept. Besides that, it also helps to understand the scale of reconstructions, and how many years after completion these reconstructions had been done. Less
