Research Abstract |
Allelic loss on 11p and 11q Of the sporadic 98 tumors in which allelic loss on 11p and 11q was examined had at least 1 informative locus on 11p. Of the 34 sporadic and unilateral tumors, 11p LOH was 23.5% of cases, LOH on 11q was 9.4%, 16.3% had 11q23 LOH. LOH limited to the 11p13 region was 16.3%, 11p15 LOH was 17.3%, LOH in the whole 11p15 - 11p13 region was 3.1%. Therefore common LOH region were limited to 11p15, 11p13, 11q23. TSLC1, lung cancer tumor suppressor gene is on 11q23 region. So, we investgated TSLC1 as a candidate tumor suppressor gene of the Wilms tumors. Deletion/mutation and methylation analysis of TSLC1 With 34 LOH cases, there were no deletion/mutation cases. By bisulfate method, methylation analysis of TSLC1 was studied. 11q23 LOH cases, 21.4%, partial methylated, none were completed methylated. We concluded that TSLC1 was not a new candidate suppressor gene of the Wilms tumors, but this gene may have some effects on oncogenesis of the Wilms tumors.
