Research Abstract |
For long time, it has been unclear about genuine convertase for prorenin to renin, active form of the enzyme. Until now, glandular kallikrein (PRECE), athepsin B, PC1/3 and PC5/6 were regarded as the candidate enzymes. However, the specificity and activity were not enough for the genuine enzyme. This project aimed the cloning and characterization of the genuine prorenin convertase with renal RNA substraction and degenerate primer PCR for Kex family method. Gained clones were known ones. So that, as conclusion, so far, it is thought that there exist no prorenin convertase in Kex family in kidney.
