Research Abstract |
IN THE PRESENT STUDY, I DESCRIBED THE RESULTS OF HISTORICAL SURVEY ON RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN JAPANESE MEDICAL-BIOLOGICAL RESEARCH AND FOREIGN RESEARCH FOUNDATIONS. I ALSO MENTIONED THE SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITIES OF HIDEO NOGUCHI, NAOHIDE YATSU AND SHIGERO YAMANOUCHI. CARNEGIE INSTITUTION SUPPORTED THEIR RESEARCH DONE IN THE US.THE STUDY OF JAPANESE PUBLIC HEALTH WAS BORN, THANKS TO THE SUPPORT FROM ROCKEFELLER FOUNDATION. JAPANESE SCIENTISTS SUPPORTED BY AMERICAN RESEARCH FOUNDATION WORKED HARD IN THE US. IN THOSE DAYS. THEIR SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITIES SEEMED TO BE AN ARCHETYPE OF BEHAVIORS OF PRESENT BIOLOGISTS IN JAPAN.
