Research Abstract |
A questionnaire about health promotion and future life style was sent out to people of age ranging from thirties to fifties living in Kanayama-machi, an under-populated area in Fukushima prefecture. Major findings include the following. 1.For the health promotion, regular medical check, habit of taking sufficient sleep, rest, and change of air are practiced in high frequency. Regular exercise is not practiced frequently. 2.As a policy for health promotion, preparation of sports facility and fulfillment of mental care project are highly desired. 3.More than half have some plan of their own old age. highly desired life style include; doing favorite things, living leisurely, and living friendly to neighbors. 4.More than 60% are interested in participating volunteer activities, such as regional activity, environmental activity, supports, and recreations. International exchange activity, activities for children, physically handicapped people are not favored. 5.Importance of inter-generation exchange is recognized. In particular, they are interested in traditional events, such as rice cake pounding and carnivals, collaboration in farm work, traditional entertainments and games for the promotion of inter-generation exchange.
