Research Abstract |
Present study examined the effects of cognitive strategy training on reading ability of learning disabled children. Three studies were carried out. Study1: Traits of relational processing functions of children with learning disabilities or other similar problems. Study2 (Case A) : Remedial teaching of relational and item-specific processing for a borderline child. Study3 (Case B) : Remedial teaching of relational and item-specific processing for a child with verbal learning disability. Especially on study2 and study 3, theoretical framework of Hunt and McDaniel (1993) was applied for cognitive remediation. Through these studies it was concluded that remediation of relational and item-specific processing was effective for improvement of reading ability.
