Research Abstract |
In this research, we have investigated a new construction method of Operating system that is adaptable to changes of environment and system configuration. Firstly in this research, we have developed an abstraction method of computer resources such as processor, memory, peripheral devices and so on. Next, we have developed a method for implementing the function for managing each object as an agent. Based on these methods, we have investigated the mechanism of dynamic creationlupdate of agents and agent migration. Furthermore, we have investigated the method for managing various computer resources location-transparently by agents. The result in this research is as follows. 1.Abstraction method of computer resources: We have developed the method for abstracting each computer resource connected via the network as an object. Concretely, objects are categorized into two kinds of objects : physical objects and data objects. Physical objects are used for abstracting computer resources, and data objects are data structures used in the system. 2.Execution environment for agents : We have investigated the mechanism for the autonomy and mobility of agents, and developed the autonomous mechanism based on the reflection. 3.Management method of computer resources by agents : We have developed the mechanism which agents migrate between computers and manage the computer resources location-transparently. 4.Communication method between agents : We have developed the location-transparent communication method for managing the computer resources by agent co-operations. 5.Resource management with load distribution : In order to efficient distribution of computer resources, we have developed the load distribution and load balancing method.
