Outline of Annual Research Achievements

平成27年度は国際雑誌に12件(第一著者7件、共著者5件)の論文が受理された。その内1件は雑誌の表紙を飾った。更に現在6本(第一著者4件、共著者2件)が現在国際誌において査読中である。また国内学会での発表を4件、国際学会での発表を2件(内1件は基調講演)行った。第一原理計算を基盤とした原子クラスターの水素貯蔵効果や触媒効果を中心としたが、更に発展させ、原子クラスターや二次元材料のビッグデータ構築にも力をいれ、さらに人工知能を取り入れ、材料のビッグデータから新規機能性材料の発見を数多くおこなった。 以下は特筆べき発見の一部である。
1 第一原理計算を基盤に材料ビッグデータを構築し、そこから人工知能を使い材料の発見をするというプロセスを提唱し実際に人工知能を使った材料予測の基盤技術を確立した。2 人工知能を使い新規機能性二次元材料の発見をした。(a) スズの二次元材料は窒素酸化物などの空気汚染物質を常温でトラップし、浄化することを発見した。(b)アンチモン、スズ、インジウムを基盤とした二次元材料は疎水性が高く、抗酸化作用があることが判明した。(c)金とプラチナの原子9個からなる原子クラスターを2次元に周期的に配置することで、四角形の二次元材料が形成されることを発見した。3 原子クラスターに対する研究が日本金属学会より評価され日本金属学会会報誌に解説論文を依頼され発表した。4 構造材料の金属と酸化物の界面に存在すると知られていた希ガスは、実際のところは酸化物側に成長するということを実験と計算の両方より突き止めた。5 鉄クラスターとグラフェンを組み合わせたものは水酸化マグネシウムの水素放出温度を劇的に下げることを発見し、結果は実験により証明された。 また鉄クラスターとグラフェンは一酸化窒素をアンモニアに常温で変換させることができるという発見をした。
