Outline of Annual Research Achievements

京都大学で執筆した博士論文 “Japan’s Quest for Cinematic Realism from the Perspective of Cultural Dialogue between Japan and Soviet Russia, 1925-1955”を単行本として纏めるにあたって、これまでの研究成果を再吟味した上で、新たな一次資料の調査・収集を行い、戦後の東アジアにおけるリアリズム映画の比較研究をさらに発展させた。2016年9月1日 ～ 2017年5月31日にかけては、イェール大学（アメリカ）のEast Asian Languages and Literatures学部に客員研究員として籍を置き、東アジア諸国における映画関係資料が豊富に所蔵されているコロンビア大学東アジア図書館（Makino Collection）や、左翼系の映画運動史に関する資料が集められたニューヨーク大学図書館（Tamiment Library & Robert F. Wagner Labor Archives）での資料収集を行った。このとき得られた研究成果は、英語でまとめた上で、世界最大規模のアジア研究学会であるAAS (Associatio for Asian Studies) で口頭発表を行った。
去年から本年度にかけては、戦後の日本で刊行された唯一のソビエト映画専門誌である『ソヴェト映画』（1950年～1954年）の復刻版の作成にも携わってきた。雑誌『ソヴェト映画』の総目次や索引を作成し、『ソヴェト映画』の刊行と廃刊の裏にあった歴史的背景、戦後のソビエト連邦における映画制作事情、戦後の日本におけるソビエト文化の受容形態を考察した解説文を執筆した。これらの総目次と解説文を所収した『ソヴェト映画』の復刻版は2016年7月に不二出版から発行された。
