Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究ではストレンジネスを含むペンタクォークバリオンの存否を明らかにすることを目的としている。陽子、中性子に s 及び反 s クォークを付与したクォーク成分で記述されるペンタクォークバリオンは、それぞれ荷電 N5、中性 N5 等と呼ばれ、約 1.7 GeV 程度の質量を持つと考えられている。荷電 N5 バリオンに関しては、SPring-8/LEPS2 実験において、水素標的に 1.3 から 3.0 GeV のガンマ線を照射することにより、中性パイ中間子と N5 バリオンの同時生成を測定する。N5 バリオンはエータ中間子並びに陽子に崩壊するチャンネルを捕らえる。水素標的を用いたデータ収集並びに各種較正は順調に進んでおり、二光子不変質量分布にパイやエータ中間子を確認し、またそれら二つの中間子の同時生成事象も確認出来ており、現在統計を増やしている。
中性子標的を用いた単一エータ光生成反応の全断面積において、1.67 GeV 付近に観測されたピーク構造 (N(1670)) は、約 30 MeV というその幅の狭さから通常の核子共鳴状態ではなく、中性 N5 バリオンの候補とされてきた。近年では、そのようなエキゾチックバリオンだけでなく、隣合う共鳴状態同士の干渉効果や、ストレンジネスチャンネルが開くことによる閾値効果といった他の解釈によっても当該ピーク構造を説明することに成功している。しかしながら最初の測定報告から十年以上が経過した現在においても、N(1670) の解釈は決着していない。そこで東北大学電子光理学研究センターにおいて、K0Λ 光生成反応の研究を行った。KΛ系はηn系と良く似た特徴を持ち、N(1670) の測定情報が数ある解釈に対して拘束条件を与えると期待できる。測定した断面積には当該エネルギー付近に小さいながらはっきりとしたバンプ構造を確認した。
