Research Abstract

本研究領域では、分子磁性体の特徴である量子性、操作性、構造設計性を機能と呼べるまでに昇華させ、それをナノスピンやバイオスピン研究に展開する。このような研究を遂行するため、A01班「スピンと分子機能」、A02班「スピンとナノ機能」、A03班「スピンと生命機能」の3班を構成している。学際領域の探求を旨とする本研究領域において総括班の指導的役割は重要である。
最終年度の次年度である19年度は、本研究の成果の集約と発信のため、総括班会議を9月に名古屋で開催した。総括班評価助言担当4名の出席のもと、総括班研究推進担当5名と、外部より関連分野で活躍されている研究者4名が交互に講演を行い、それをもとに討議した。その結果、本特定領域研究の成果は、有機ラジカルや遷移金属錯体などの開殻化学種の機能探究研究において、新しい研究ステージを作りだしたと評価された。このような方向性は堅持されるべきで、このような化学種がもつ反応中間体として特性が素直に転換されたような機能性や物性の探究が今後ますます重要であると結論した。また、成果発信のための方策についても討議し、著書を刊行することが決定された。
